By using the auto create pallets button, suppliers can easily generate pallets based on the number of units per layer and layers per pallet provided in the order. This streamlines the palletisation process and ensures accuracy.
How to use the 'auto create pallets' feature
When you click the auto create pallets button, Colladium will automatically calculate the number of pallets required based on:
- units per layer
- layers per pallet
- order quantity
Colladium will multiply the units per layer by the layers per pallet to determine the total units per pallet, and create the required number of pallets, according to the available quantity of each item. The remaining quantity will be assigned to a partially-filled pallet.
How Colladium calculates stock on each pallet
Let’s walk through an example of how the auto-pack feature works:
- Available quantity: 1,000 units
- Units per layer: 40 units
- Layers per pallet: 7 layers
Calculation:
- 40 units per layer × 7 layers per pallet = 280 units per pallet.
- Colladium will then create 3 full pallets of 280 units each, and a 4th pallet with the remaining 160 units.
This means:
- 3 pallets of 280 units.
- 1 pallet with 160 units.
How the auto create pallet functionality works for specific retailers
Given the calculation requires units per layer and layers per pallet fields, this functionality can only be used when these fields are present on the despatch advice (AKA ASN or advanced shipping notice).
Important notes
- Ensure the data is correct
Before using the auto create feature, double-check that the 'units per layer' and 'layers per pallet' values are accurate. Colladium relies on this data to generate the pallets accurately. - You can make manual adjustments
You can always manually adjust the pallet quantity after creating them.
Common issues and troubleshooting
- Can I undo the auto create process?
Yes. If you make a mistake or need to adjust the pallet count, you can manually adjust the quantities after the auto create has been applied. Just manually adjust the pallet quantity after creating them.
