Colladium now allows suppliers to input and generate their own SSCC numbers and labels for despatch advices, AKA ASNs (advanced shipping motices). This gives suppliers more flexibility, especially for those using their own system to generate SSCC numbers.

It's important to ensure that the SSCC numbers are unique, correctly formatted and meet retailer requirements to avoid potential issues.

How to use your own SSCC numbers

Locate the SSCC container you want to edit

When creating or editing an ASN in Colladium, hover over the container where the SSCC number is displayed. You’ll notice a pencil icon next to the SSCC field.

Edit the SSCC number and enter new value

Click the pencil icon. This will open an editable field where you can input your own SSCC number instead of using Colladium-generated SSCC numbers.

Input Your SSCC number

If you're using your own system to generate SSCC numbers, simply enter the SSCC number into the editable field. Ensure that the number is unique, valid and complies with retailer requirements. If it doesn't, your despatch advice may be rejected by the retailer.

Important notes

  • Make sure your SSCC number is unique
    It's crucial that the SSCC number you provide is unique. Colladium does not validate SSCC numbers for duplication or format errors, so the responsibility lies with you to ensure that the number you enter is not a duplicate and meets the retailer’s expectations.
  • Make sure the format and length of your SSCC number is in line with your retailers' expectation
    Please verify that your SSCC number is the correct length and format (GS1-128 barcode). Incorrectly formatted or invalid SSCC numbers may be rejected by your retailer.

Common issues and troubleshooting

  • What happens if I use a duplicate SSCC number?
    If you input an SSCC number that has been used before, your despatch advice may be rejected by your retailer.
  • Can I revert to Colladium-generated SSCC numbers?
    Yes! If you prefer to use Colladium-generated SSCC numbers, you can simply delete the container where you added your own SSCC number and re-allocate the stock to a new container. Colladium will automatically generate an SSCC number for you.
