The ATO will be shutting down its systems from the 24th of December 2019 until the 2nd of January 2020.
What does this mean for you?
You can still report, but responses may be delayed
You can still submit your STP messages, but the responses may be delayed. We'll pull responses once the ATO systems are back online and deliver them to you through your usual channel. The ATO have advised that penalties will not apply for missed or late reporting during the ATO closedown period.
You can report early, before the shutdown period
The ATO have advised that those who prepare payroll in advance can lodge STP reports early. You can also submit multiple pay-runs at the same time to cover the whole period.
Hold off submitting full file replacements
The ATO have asked for you not lodge a Full File Replacement (FFR) during the shutdown period. Please wait until you have returned to normal pay day reporting after the closedown and received a business response for the original file you submitted.
Corrections should be made in your first pay run after the shutdown
If you find there’s a need to correct information you previously reported, you can make any changes in your first pay run from 6.00am AEDT on Thursday 2 January 2020.
When will the shutdown happen?
The ATO systems will progressively shut down from 12pm AEDT on Tuesday the 24th of December 2019. All services will be restored by 6:00am AEDT on Thursday the 2nd of January 2020.
Where can you find more information?
The ATO has published information on their systems maintenance page. If you have any questions about the our STP service, please contact your Account Manager or our support team.
